Hi singles, I've been away for a few months but i'm back to share this re-published blog with you. I decided to share a quick message with you as Valentine's Day approaches.
Valentine's Day hasn't been a holiday that I've ever looked forward to since it marks 20 years that my grandfather transitioned from this life to his final resting place. Lord knows I miss him so much, but I'm reminded of how much my grandfather loved my family and I. So, that alone with all of the precious priceless memories continues to help me to heal.
For some, today is a day to express love in a more extraordinary way, but to those of us without a significant other, I would say to you, don't feel that you have to have someone to express love to you in such an over-the-top way, or to make so much of this one day. It should never take this one day to over express love when it should be an everyday effort. My former Pastor used to say, "love is what love does". Real love should be experienced first through the love of Jesus Christ, & the love of Jesus is a love like NO OTHER, then there is also the love you should have for yourself, the one we call self-love. I love me some "Mee" y'all... LOL!
Don't allow this one day, all the candy, chocolates, stuffed animals, cards, roses, dinners, wine, jewelry, all of that overratedness, etc. to have you feeling some type of way, all in your feelings, sad and lonely. Just know that love is much more than those tangibles, it's what's within, and self-love would be a great place to start. Start with loving all of you. Know that you are love, and you are loved.
"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." 1 John 4:16
That's all I have for now. I just wanted to keep this one short, sweet, and simply to the point.
I've missed you guys, but I'll be back for single Saturday soon & more to come from Singles Pray & Wait!
Love, Peace, & Blessings,
~Demetria
