Hey Singles! I hope that you enjoyed our last blog topic. We are about to get into a topic that I’m sure most of us can relate to, be it male or female, and probably more female LOL! Our topic names and games are strictly about “nick names and mind games" we encounter in dating, courtship/relationships, even in just briefly getting to know a little bit about someone of your interest or who might be interested in you. Have you ever been in a situationship (what is that anyway, Microsoft Word didn’t even want to recognize it, LOL!) But anyway… yeah have you? You know situationships when you’re just getting to know one another and you mutually like one another but not really getting serious just yet, the “let me see if this is this is going to work” type of deal then when you’re in after a few weeks or months, you start to get those nick-names like, bae (I can’t stand the bae word, at all… LOL!), how do y'all say it? “that’s bae" chile… not that i’ve had to, but I’ll tell em' quick, “don’t call me bae”. My parents used to call one another that and still do sometimes, soo cute… yeah it was back then when I was younger and didn’t have a reason to think anything of it but now that I am an adult, it just gets under my skin because it’s used so heavily now by so many couples, boo thangs potentials and even side pieces. LOL! Here are some others; boo, babe, sweetie, honey, darling, sexy, beautiful, gorgeous, honey/hunni, baby (I like honey/hunni, and baby i’m old school and the baby comes from me being from New Orleans so there you have it... LOL!). Here are some others; luv/love, beautiful, gorgeous, ma, mami, I mean I can go on a on but i'll stop here… whew! Brothas, what names do females give you? Bae, boo, handsome, honey, baby, cutie? I know bae is #1 on the list though LOL! Tell me in the comments. I wanna know. LOL! I’m just used to what the fellas call us ladies. Well let me take this to where I really want to go. I’ve never been the type that’s big on random nick-names, now don’t get me wrong I’m not saying I don’t like it because I do know that some names are only terms of endearment and that is totally fine but it’s when those nicknames become random that works my nerves. LOL! It’s like this, one day I’m "hey boo", then the next day it's "wzup sweetie", then the next minute it’s “wyd lady”, then "how you doing babe", to "what's going on baby", and finally by the end of the day or week it’s "how was your day beautiful". By the end of the week, I don't know who the H-E double hockey sticks I am. Am I boo, honey, bae, sweetie, suga, buttercup, sweetie pie, honey-bun, shucks! Now I have a sweet tooth! LOL! Y’all see what i’m saying? Like, am I being too petty with this or can I get a witness? I mean all of the nicknames, I just can get with it, at all. You might like or don't feel anyways about it but it's a MAJOR turn-off for me. All of those extracurricular names won’t make me fall for you more, or loose myself over you, but it will force me to turn away and even say to you plain and simple, ease up on the random names, it’s okay to address me by my name since you’re failing at over empressing. Someone once said “all that name calling isn’t just for you, there are others being called those same random names by that same person. No, call me by my name so that I know you know who you are talking to”. LOL! I’ll tell you this though, if I was gullible, i'd be all in for the names and wouldn’t feel no-ways tired about it, LOL! but i'm just not that lady. Fellas how do you feel about being called boo, baby, handsome, sexy, bae, baby, etc. randomly? It’s like every day you get a new name. Is it a turn off, turn on, or does it not really matter to you? I used to cringe when this one came up back in the day, "what's up shorty"? Here in New Orleans, Louisiana where I am from, I remember guys used to say “wuzam ma”, “say red”? RED???? Please don’t say Red or anything else after that because, last I checked my pigmentation and melanin wasn’t red, it is caramel… I didn’t make it any better... LOL! That one used to really grind my gears though. But hey, that’s NOLA for ya. LOL! I’d much rather a simple and consistent term of endearment where I am not answering to nor acknowledging a new name every 10-15mins. of everyday. I just don’t have the tolerance for it. The other part of this blog topic is about the game playing. I always thought of the games people play in trying to come on to someone and getting to know them as childish. Why play games and throw in foolish lines? The games and lines get old. I would much rather a guy be straight-forward with me, no games, no lines, no nick-names just straight to the point. That would be a plus from the start. The games and nick-names isn’t gonna make me like you more. Fellas how do you feel? Have you ever had a female approach you with games, and nick-names just to try to win you over for a moment? Is that a turn-on or turn-off to you? This topic was just to loosen us up a bit. I’m not too deep with this one, however, I just wanted to cover somethings that we all have probably experienced at some point in our singleness. Here at Singles Pray & Wait we will aim to cover and discuss it all as it relates to LIVING SINGLE. So, yeah, my motto is save the names and childish games and bring your A-game. I’m out you guys, see I told you this one wouldn’t be so deep and lengthy… I just wanted to share some laughter and hopefully start an interestingly-fun discussion with you.
